Shade is 21" tall; 18" diameter

For the longest time I called this shade "The Beast" because, to date, it is the largest one I have made. It was a commission produced for some friends who have been looking for a shade for a very tall floor lamp. The process I have developed for commissions thus far is to get a feel for color and texture from the client and then do a mock-up for them to come to my studio and inspect. I suppose this could also be done via email with photos and scans and such. Once I am sure the client will be happy with the sewn paper final, I begin work.

"Lush Life" needed to be produced in sections according to what could be rolled under the sewing machine arm. It was a fun puzzle to work on and a pretty nice piece of art laying flat on its own.
