Mr. Blue Sky
Base & Shade are 27" tall, Shade is 14" diameter.
I found this piece of blue glass attached to the ugliest lamp ever at an antique mall in Paso Robles, CA, my home town. It was a little pricey, but I really liked the color, though I had no idea what I would do with it. Seven months later, I found a really heavy bronze metal sphere, which I think was originally part of a weather vane. A little while after that, the legs came walking into my life and voila! I decided to go with the seventies vibe while designing the shade, using a scanned print of paisley wallpaper to complete the feel.
All "Empire" lamps include new sockets, plugs and wiring. Every lamp is a unique combination of found objects produced in our Northern CA studios. The shades use heavy acid-free rag papers and are preserved with UV and moisture-lock archival protection.
