Base & Shade are 47" tall, Shade is 12" diameter.

Last summer I purchased a room full of old floor lamps, many of them dating from the 1930s and 1940s. This base is made out of pieces salvaged from a couple of those Art Deco-era lamps. The shade is a collage of blue and grey texture screen prints, some wallpaper samples and ceiling details from an old book of architectural engravings.

All "Empire" lamps include new sockets, plugs and wiring. Every lamp is a unique combination of found objects produced in our Northern CA studios. The shades use heavy acid-free rag papers and are preserved with UV and moisture-lock archival protection.
