Base & Shade are 23.75” tall; Shade is 7” in diameter.

This lamp is part of a series made with aluminum camlocks, attachments for industrial hoses, as necks. I found a bunch at a great metal salvage yard in Petaluma, CA and love how well they go with the white ceramic bases made by James Aarons. Topped with an all-white sewn-paper shade, the whole thing is joined together with an ivory and silver zipper.

These lamps remind me of Ann-Margret’s all-white bedroom in Tommy, minus the baked beans…

All "Empire" lamps include new sockets, plugs and wiring. Every lamp is a unique combination of hand-made ceramics and found objects produced in our Northern CA studios. The shades use heavy acid-free rag papers and are preserved with UV and moisture-lock archival protection.
